Treecup

Reusable cup system

Designed for a long life of reuse. Made with its end of life in mind.

Reuse, without overlooking what comes next.

Treecup combines the durability of an everyday reusable cup with a bio-based material tested for biodegradation under controlled industrial composting conditions. Made in Germany from renewable raw materials and natural minerals, it is designed to be used, washed and used again.

The material has the solid, familiar feel of a conventional moulded product. Its environmental thinking is built into the product, rather than expressed through a rustic or overtly “eco” appearance. Cups, lids and sleeves form a coordinated system for everyday drinks.

The published TÜV Rheinland report records 250 passed dishwasher cycles. NOWASTE’s carbon calculations indicate that repeated reuse can reduce the footprint compared with disposable cups, with the result depending on washing, frequency of use and end-of-life treatment.

A quiet form. Many identities.

The deliberately restrained design leaves room for each organisation’s own identity. Colours and graphics give the same underlying product different expressions, from workplace coffee breaks to city-wide reuse schemes.

Applications include Hannoccino in Hannover and Frankfurt’s #MainBecher: local identities built around a shared reusable product.
