First, understand where a product fits into everyday life. For example, consumer interviews and prototype testing informed the d.light S1 solar light. Ti then led the final product design while working in-house at d.light.

Next, consider who makes decisions around a product. AQUA IQ brings water-leak protection into a compact product with controls for installers and homeowners. Because both groups depend on the same system, product form and interface design need to work together.

Finally, develop the product around how it will be made and used. Lumina ONE, for example, integrates functions into three main parts to simplify assembly. Its architecture also considers use, repair and material separation. Treecup shows a different approach: a reusable cup range with adaptable branding and a bio-based material.
